AHRD 540: Leadership
The leadership portfolio assignment required the student to compile information completed during the leadership class. While creating this portfolio and compiling the work that we had completed throughout the semester it really helped students to reflect on my experiences thought the semester. When skimming over past work it reminds students of their thought process when they began the course and allowed them to reflect on what they had learned about leadership and how much their thought process had changed.

AHRD 640: Program Evaluation
The program evaluation assignment was a good assignment to really reinforce the core concepts of the class. Mr. Locke felt that he made a lot of mistakes while conducting the program evaluation. When Mr. Locke was on the write up stage, he realized how many mistakes he made. Putting the information down on paper allowed him to see the gaping holes in what he had done. While writing the paper Mr. Locke thought about how he could have done this project differently. This made him realize, while students should do a good job on this assignment the greater benefit is to have the experience doing a program evaluation. In the future, if tasked to conduct a program evaluation students will have the confidence to know that they have already completed a program evaluation and have the foresight to learn from the mistakes that they previously made. Ultimately, everyone is going to make mistakes the first time they do something, it is better to try things for the first time in a protected environment where you can receive guidance and making mistakes does not cost any money.

AHRD 680: Reading & Research
The reading and research class gave students the opportunity to work on their research paper and receive guidance and feedback from peers. Attached is the most recent draft of the research paper which is still a work in progress and is serving as a placeholder until the final version is completed.
